Improve Asset Management with Our New Feature: Groups

Asset management can be challenging and time-consuming, especially when you have hundreds of assets, of differing types, across multiple sites and/or countries. The MOVUS team understands the struggle and have been working hard to deliver a solution.

We introduce you to our newest feature ‘Groups’ that supports your asset management process. Groups allows you to organise your assets into categories and eases the information access.

Groups Explained

Groups is one of our newest features on MachineCloud, developed to assist users in grouping their assets for better visibility. Users can now customise tags for every piece of equipment and view those grouped machines in one go – no more jumping from page to page. Groups really comes into its own with the ability to compare information between different groups of assets at a glance. With such comparisons users can gain insights into equipment conditions and efficiencies that further support the decision-making process.

So how can you make the most of this powerful new feature?

3 Tips to Level Up Your Asset Management

  1. Tagging assets based on locations

By grouping assets based on location, the maintenance team can keep a record of, and compare, equipment across multiple sites. This is perfect for organisations that have plants and teams in different countries or regions, It ensures visibility for all team members and the ability to benchmark performance.

Additionally, managers can also compare between different sites to see which groups of equipment is performing better. Managers can then look into what kind of tactics that make a group perform better than others and then make changes to improves all of their equipment.

  1. Tagging assets based on criticality

There are pieces of equipment that are more important than others. For many maintenance teams, it is vital to have instant information on these assets. Using Groups, teams can categorise equipment based on their criticality – prioritising them on the dashboard and putting the required information front and centre.

  1. Tagging assets based on brands/model

For many plant leaders, procuring new pieces of equipment can be a difficult choice. ‘Groups’ can help ease the decision-making process – by tagging assets based on brand or model, users can compare machine performance to see if one is outperforming others. The many different metrics that FitMachine reports on enable user to make even more informed decisions about the performance of certain asset types,

But wait, there’s more …

There’s a reason that our product team worked tireless to develop this particular feature. We’re confident that Groups will unlock so many other potential opportunities in a predictive maintenance approach. So whilst we wanted to put Groups into the hands of users right away, we’ll be continuing to develop it and support users even further. We want Groups be the catalyst for change in asset management within an organisation. For the future, expect further options such as: grouping users to assets, and custom, cross-object report generation.  The MOVUS team is working hard to make these game-changing tools become reality – so stay tuned.
